Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8 TDF Edition

Canyon has launched a limited edition Ultimate CF SLX 8 Disc for the 2021 Tour de France. Called the Wildcare Edition, it’s meant to celebrate the wildcard participation of Alpecin-Fenix and Arkéa-Samsic, two of three Canyon sponsored teams (and Movistar Team) in the Tour.

It’s limited to only 108 units honoring the 108th edition of the world’s biggest cycling race that started back in 1903. The race wasn’t held from 1916 to 1919 (World War 1) and 1941 to 1946 (World War 2).

The striking white and red paint job has touches of playing cards, with the slight peek of spade K and flower Q on the fork and chainstay. The joker is fully revealed on the top tube. According to Canyon, this playing card design is inspired by the decades-old tradition among the pros where legends such as Eddy Merckx spend hours playing cards between stages.

The Ultimate CF SLX is Canyon’s all-rounder race bike. It’s the same bike that Alejandro Valverde has ridden to his World Championship win, Nairo Quintana and Richard Carapaz to their Giro d’Italia wins.
