Muf-Off has launched an updated version of their popular tubeless valves. Called the Muc-Off V2 Tubeless Valve, it is now compatible with tubeless tire inserts. In recent months, tubeless tire inserts were in the headlines with Vittoria launching the Air-Liner insert.

This V2 valve has a new internal design, overcoming the shortfall of its predecessor that doesn’t work well with a tire insert. On the inner side, there are now six channels that allow for air and sealant to flow laterally from all sides.

Without these channels, air and sealant can only flow out from the bottom of the valve where the tire insert is pressed against, severely limiting the flow.

In the past, tire inserts manufacturers such as CushCore, Nukeproof, and Rimpact provides the tubeless valves together with their tire insert purchase to ensure both works perfectly.

The material used is also updated from a 6061 aluminum to an aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum in the V2. It’s lighter and stronger but in our opinion, the weight savings are very minimal, if any.
