Schwalbe has unveiled a new pair of gravel tires on the eve of the Unbound Gravel. Called the Schwalbe G-One R(ace), it’s designed to be used on lighter gravel roads and asphalt surfaces.

It will make its first appearance at Unbound Gravel, ridden by defending champion Amity Rockwell.

According to Schwalbe, the G-One R is the fastest tire in their gravel line. It takes in the best characteristics of its existing G-One lineup; the G-One All Around for versatility, G-One Bite for grip, and G-One Speed for smoothness and combined them into the G-One R.

The G-One R has a uniquely designed thread pattern looking like many mini boomerangs with angled side knobs. Looking closer, it sits between the G-One All Around and G-One Bite. This allows it to achieve a low rolling resistance on the straights and excellent grip and control on the corners.

Schwalbe uses a new Super Race carcass; 3 layers on the sides and 2 beneath the thread to achieve a high impact and puncture protection. Combined with their Addix Race compound and Souplesse construction, this tubeless-ready tire is looking like a very fast tire.

Pricing and Availability

The G-One R come in 2 sizes, 40mm and 45mm for 700c tubeless wheels. The claimed weight is 480g for 40mm and 520g for 45mm. There’s no word from Schwalbe on 650b options.

It will be available in your local dealers soon.
